Preferred Gardens at Liberty Cannabis
Preferred Gardens brings their craft-focused flower and original genetics to the cannabis world. Founded by longtime cultivator David Polley in 2015, this family-owned brand traces its cultivation experience back to 2005. Today, Preferred Gardens cannabis can be found across the country, including at our medical dispensaries in Pennsylvania.
The brand is known for its extensive genetics library, careful strain selection, and mix of indoor and mixed-light cultivation. The result? Unique Preferred Gardens strains like Lazer Gun, Traffic Jam, Znacks, OG Marker, and more.
What Is Preferred Gardens? Building a Deep Strain Library
Preferred Gardens began in Sacramento, California, where founder David Polley turned years of cultivation experience into a family-owned cannabis company. Preferred Gardens grew from those legacy roots with no outside investors and remains independently owned today.
Cultivation plays a central role in the Preferred Gardens identity. They utilize both large-scale mixed-light greenhouses and indoor growing environments to create their strains. Mixed-light cultivation combines natural sunlight with supplemental lighting, while indoor cultivation gives growers complete control over environmental conditions.
Genetics are another major part of the Preferred Gardens story. Their strain library includes more than 260 cultivars, with new selections continually added through in-house breeding and phenotype hunts. In a phenotype hunt, their growers start with multiple seeds from the same cross. Then Preferred Gardens reviews each resulting plant to help determine which selections will become part of their long-term cultivation program.
Rather than building their library with established plants purchased from nurseries, Preferred Gardens breeds their own cultivars or selects them from seed. Their hands-on approach has produced genetics such as Permanent Marker, Glacier, and Lights Out.
Preferred Gardens Products
Flower & Strain Library
Preferred Gardens strains are available as Big Buds or Smalls. Current popular cultivars include Pearlz, Twin, Lazer, GuavaZ, Zangria, and many others developed or selected through their genetics program.
Featured Strains: Glacier & Lights Out
Lights Out from Preferred Gardens is a cross of Znackz and Lazer Gun. Follow the family tree further up and you’ll find genetics from Chauffeur, Runtz, Georgia Pie, and Zkittlez in the lineage of those two parent strains. Both Glacier and Lights Out rotate through the Preferred Gardens lineup, with availability depending on the latest harvests.
Pearlz Flower & D-Lish Pre-Rolls
Prefer a pre-roll? Preferred Gardens D-Lish is a 1-gram pre-roll made with the strain. D-Lish Preferred Gardens pre-rolls come ready to light, with no grinding or rolling needed. Both strains are part of a much larger collection with other strains.
